Galvanized plumbing lines will eventually corrode, whether water supply lines or drain lines. This drain line corroded many years ago and the laundry and kitchen drains drained into the crawlspace. Unfortunately, the wood framing in this area suffered the greatest damage. Make sure to ensure your drain lines are draining where you intend them to drain.
